Darkstar Darkroom. These rules apply to all attendees.
In short: bring your ID, phone in flight mode, no photos, no videos, no social media, no sharing of the event location or date, arrive dispersed, know your shelter, no weapons. These rules protect every founder and operator in the room, including you. Any violation is treated as a breach and results in removal from the event and from Darkstar related activities and events.
Your ID is checked against your registration and your personal QR entry credential at the door. The credential is unique to you: do not share or forward it, and do not bring uninvited people. No ID, no entry, no exceptions.
Switch your phone to flight mode a few hundred metres before you reach the venue, and keep it there until you have left. Wi-Fi is provided on site, so you can still work and message. A cluster of active handsets is itself a signal: dozens of phones lighting up the same tower marks the location even if nobody posts anything. We monitor air-raid alerts continuously for the whole event, and staff will alert the room and direct you if anything changes. Follow staff instructions immediately.
Recording of any kind is not allowed inside the venue. No photos, no video, no audio. If you need a record of a conversation, take notes.
Do not post about the event, the venue, the attendees, or the sessions. No posts, no stories, no tags, no check-ins. Before, during, or after. This includes the fact that you are travelling.
The venue and timing are disclosed to approved attendees only. Do not share them with anyone. Not in group chats, not in industry channels, not in calendar invites that others can see, not in passing conversation. Do not forward the invitation itself.
Do not travel in convoy and do not arrive as a group. Come within the arrival window you are given, park where you are directed, and go straight inside. Do not stand, smoke or wait in groups outside the entrance, and do not gather in the car park before or after. A visible crowd outside is the easiest thing for an adversary to see and the most dangerous place to be.
You are briefed at entry on the shelter, the route to it, and the assembly procedure. Learn it before you do anything else. When staff call an alert, move to the shelter immediately. Do not go outside, do not go to your vehicle, and do not run for the treeline. Staff carry trauma kits and there is medical cover on site. Follow staff instructions without argument.
No weapons on site. This includes hardware demos containing live or inert munitions. If you are unsure whether your kit qualifies, contact us before the event.
What is said in the room stays in the room. Discussions are off the record unless explicitly agreed otherwise by everyone involved.
We treat any violation of these guidelines as a security breach. The consequence is immediate removal from the event and exclusion from Darkstar related activities and events. There are no warnings.
